Head of People
High Wycombe, UK

If you can fuse L&D and HR, have we got a role for you…

We’ve grown from 40 people 10-years-ago to over 200 now, and we want to recruit our first ever full-time, dedicated Head of People.

At Focusrite we want our people to be both successful and happy. It seems a simple ambition, but we need an experienced HR specialist to help us realise it fully. We are looking for someone with the skills and experience to assess and design the optimum people management programme, as well as fulfil the hands-on, day to day functions required to bring that programme to life. We really do value our people.

Who you are

Key to this role will be your:

You’ll be someone looking for a rewarding career at a senior level but still able to deal with the day to day personnel matters as you drive the HR function. With a strong business-orientated mindset, your key focus will be to provide HR leadership while supporting people decisions across the business areas within the UK and internationally. Accordingly, you’ll be confident in making quick decisions and following them through from the outset. You’ll be part of the leadership team and help determine the long-term talent management and growth strategy, ensuring that the HR and recruitment needs of the company are being met and are aligned with business objectives.

You’ll have impressive HR and talent management credentials and have the creativity and intuition to assess, design and lead various people programmes. This is a global role, encompassing performance and talent management, compensation and benefits, organisational changes, mergers and acquisitions, employee relations, HR administration, recruiting, reporting and providing support across the business in collaboration with your colleagues.

You’ll be the sort of person who always gives their all, is willing to do the legwork as well as the leadership and who can happily work alongside an intelligent and talented group of individuals with different skills, responsibilities and ambitions.

The Focusrite culture is very important to us and part of the challenge of the role will be to support, maintain and foster that culture in our different locations as part of the people plan you will be implementing. We are a unique mix of laid-back professionals with creative drive and technical brilliance. We’re music lovers dedicated to being the best we can be, without compromise to our values or our personalities.

Who we are

We believe Focusrite is a pretty great place to work, just ask any of the 200+ employees we have worldwide. Incorporating the Focusrite, Focusrite Pro, Novation and Ampify brands, we want to enrich lives through music, removing barriers to creativity for music makers around the globe, from the bedroom DJ to audio professionals driving some of the greatest music events on earth. Everyone who works here has an enormous passion for music: as it says on our website, sound is everything. We take that very seriously – though we have a lot of fun doing it.

With permanent offices in High Wycombe, London, Stuttgart, Los Angeles, Mexico City and Hong Kong, Focusrite is a truly global company.

As the number one selling audio interface brand worldwide, Focusrite has an illustrious, prestigious, and, let’s face it, cool history. Alongside Novation, the hardware and software that we develop plays an instrumental (see what we did there?) role in shaping the sound of modern music. From amateur to pro, our goal is to help musicians make their music the very best it can be.

Music has always been an exciting thing to be involved with, and that’s not about to change. We embrace its evolution, and that means being open to new ideas. Our whole business is structured to let everyone contribute and be heard at all levels, and we make sure it’s a fun place to work.

Benefits include company pension, employee share scheme, life insurance, private healthcare, and employee purchase scheme, (Plus, you get free breakfast and lunch in the canteen. No really.). Company hack-days, making things easy days, lunch and learns, external visits, and free use of a local recording studio and rehearsal space – we’re all about innovation, fresh thinking and great, great products.

We work hard. We are professional. We select really, really talented people. And we absolutely love our work. So if you think you can bring something new to the mix, we’ll be looking forward to hearing from you.
